About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain halfway between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL just off Interstate 20. The Depot is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees.
Duties
Develop the assigned portions of the annual Budget Estimate Submission including revenue and expense by Army Management Structure Code, object class, and cost center.
Analyze funding documents for correctness prior to reviewing/approving the documents.
Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to analyze and portray a variety of budgetary data.
Perform proper actions in the occurrence of daily duties to pass audit readiness requirements for incoming and outgoing MIPRs, incoming checks, and incoming GFEBS/LCMC funding.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a Data Analytics Certification Level 1 within 12 months of being appointed to the position.
- FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Level 2 Certification.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

This position may be filled by Temporary Promotion not to exceed 1 year.
This Temporary Promotion may be extended up to a maximum of 5 years.
It may be made Permanent without further competition.

This position may be filled by a competitive detail not-to-exceed one (1) year.
Details will be selected to serve for an initial 120-day period, which may be extended in increments of 120 days, up to one (1) year or until the employee obligated to this position returns.
This detail opportunity is open to current permanent federal employees within this agency.
NOTE: If you are not a current federal civilian employee within this agency, you will not be eligible for this position.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a full time, detail/temporary promotion opportunity. Initial action for detail will not exceed 120 days and temporary promotion will not exceed one year. In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Developing, reviewing, analyzing, and editing various segments and portions of the organization's Operating Budget; 2) Preparing preliminary budget estimates and reviewing justifications for program support activities; and 3) Compiling and presenting financial data, into work sheets, budget schedules, and other supplemental reports needed for budget and funding reviews. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-09 or above.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
