You will serve as a PROGRAM MANAGER for Futures Directorate in the Program Executive Office Ships Chief of Staff (COS) Office within Program Executive Office (PEO) Ships.
Duties
You will serve as the Futures Director for future shipbuilding programs from the concept stage (pre-milestone A) through identification of material solution, and lead the program transition to a Program Office.
You will serve as the PEO Ships primary point of contact for all matters pertaining to ship pre-program initiation efforts.
You will engage with OPNAV resource sponsors and the Fleet on Force Level and Mission Level Analysis efforts during execution of future shipbuilding programs from the concept stage through identification of a material solution.
You will ensure that the Future Surface Combatant Force, Future Amphibious Force, and Future Afloat Logistics Force efforts progress and align to continually evolving Future Fleet priorities.
You will communicate with prospective PEO Ships Program Offices to ensure all stakeholders align with the progress of each of the Futures Directorate programs.
You will lead the identification of industry ship design capacity and perform routine Government and Industry ship designer health assessments.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 pay band (or GS-13 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Leading the development or implementation of acquisition strategies (e.g., cost, schedule, performance, ship design, or fleet priorities) for shipbuilding programs.
