The position is within the FAA, Aviation Safety (AVS), Office of Aerospace Medicine (AAM), Regional Aerospace Medicine Division. The Office of Aerospace Medicine (AAM) develops and manages medical programs in support of Aviation Safety.

Duties

Incumbent performs a combination of routine, multiple, and varying assignments.

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Successful completion of a security investigation may be required.

Qualifications

TO QUALIFY AT THE FV-F (FG/GS 5-9) LEVEL, you must demonstrate in your application you possess three (3) years of progressively responsible general experience, one (1) year of which was equivalent to at least the GS-4 LEVEL, that demonstrates the ability to 1) analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions, 2) plan and organize work; and 3) communicate effectively orally and in writing.ORFour (4) year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.OREquivalent combination of education and experience may be qualifying for this position.TO QUALIFY AT THE FV-G (FG/GS 10/11) LEVEL, you must demonstrate in your application you possess one (1) year of Specialized Experience equivalent to FV-F (FG/GS 5-9) LEVEL. Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE includes: experience applying medical knowledge and terminology in program management; utilizing medical clinical information databases; reading, interpreting, and summarizing medical information and documents; participating in site visits; identifying problem areas and providing recommendations for improvement.ORPh.D. or equivalent doctoral degreeOR3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degreeORLL.M., if related, from an accredited college or university.ORCombination education and experience may be qualifying for this position.Applicants should provide examples of Specialized Experience in their Work History.
