This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS), Data and Systems Group (DSG), Division of Business Essential Systems (DBES).
As an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SYSTEM ANALYSIS), GS-2210-13, you will analyze and evaluate work concerns with integrated application systems.
Duties
Respond to and resolve problems with software and systems management for IT applications.
Perform technical and market research to identify technical options related to technology advancement, visualization, data and information policies, IT security, best practices and standards.
Plan, schedule, estimate, and monitor project progress and associated development and operational costs using project management and resource estimating techniques.
Collaborate with a team to develop new systems to automate procedures for collecting, organizing, processing and/or retrieving data in support of an organization.

You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

In order to qualify for the GS-13, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1. Leading cross-functional teams throughout the IT product development life cycle, ensuring delivery of user-centric products, iterative value, product/process automation, and continuous improvement to serve complex customer needs; 2. Using agile product management methods and collaboration to manage product roadmaps from idea to post-launch, including operations and maintenance phases; 3. Collaborating with product stakeholders to identify and prioritize critical business needs, incorporate user-centered design and agile development practices to provide product recommendations; AND 4. Applying modern agile, human-centered methods to ensure the delivery of products provide measurable business value to customers and stakeholders.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
