This position will be in the Associate Administrator for Aviation Safety, Office of Rulemaking, ARM. As a Program Analyst in the Office of Rulemaking, performs a combination of routine, multiple, and varying assignments under the general direction of a manager. Applies regulatory policy and process management strategies to FAA actions focused on providing improved aviation safety through timely and appropriate regulatory action.
Duties
Recognized as a subject matter expert who performs multiple and complex assignments under the minimal guidance of a Director or Executive Director. May act as a principal specialist to develop new and innovative approaches, methodologies, and/or techniques or as a team leader to define and direct challenging projects/programs/activities. Often represents as a principal point of contact to provide advice and guidance on the applications of policies and procedures. Formulates and provides recommendations to senior management positions on or changes to major projects/ policies/issues. Shares responsibility for the performance of programs/projects that frequently affect more than one LOB/SO or the FAA as a whole.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience includes: Experience responding to a regulated community for consideration of proposed regulatory action or relief from specific regulations, including petitions for exemption or clarification of regulatory documents. Experience reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating aviation safety policies and procedures.If the selecting official decides to interview any employee on the selection list for a vacancy, then all who remain under consideration for the position at that point in the process must be interviewed. If the selection list is shortened to a best qualified list through a comparative process, then the best qualified list shall be considered to be the selection list.
