About the Position: El Paso is a jewel in the desert. Duties

Monitor, and maintain the installation’s urinalysis program, to include the testing of all military personnel, reservists, National Guard, and civilian personnel. Ensure specimens are handled with strict adherence to established quality assurance Standards. Enforce established internal and external quality control procedures to ensure that each test result can withstand review by legal forensics. Consolidate and analyze statistical data on the urinalysis program. Inspect unit collection sites to ensure internal controls are in effect and will enforce established internal and external quality control procedures. Execute the installation urinalysis program, to include the testing of military and civilian personnel in accordance with regulatory guidance. Handle specimens with strict adherence to established quality assurance standards, chain of custody procedures, and physical security to ensure test results can withstand review by legal forensics.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent will be certified by the DA DTC Certification Course within 9 months of assuming their duties. Failure to obtain certification or failure to maintain certification may result in administrative actions and removal from the position.
  • Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This is an obligated position. You will be asked to sign an agreement acknowledging that you are aware of the obligation and willing to be displaced under reduction in force procedures upon the return of the former incumbent.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
