As a Management and Program Assistant, assigned to Mental Health & Behavioral Sciences Service (MH&BSS) at the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System, Southern Clinics and Northern Clinics, playing a critical role in the effort to meet or exceed performance expectations through remote Automated Data Processing Application Coordinator (ADPAC) support to the service in 9 locations within the Bay Pines VA catchment area with analyzing, administering, coordinating, testing and monitoring operating programs.
Duties
Serves as the ADPAC and back-up to the Primary Care Management Module (PCMM) Coordinator.
Experience in ADP Security procedures, policies, and requirements.
Extract data from databases and reformat into processes data using VISTA, CPRS, and VSSC.
Develops VISTA documentation and training procedures, techniques, and practices.
Data collection and report preparation utilizing Microsoft Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Project, Access and Visio.
Must have knowledge of VA patient workload reporting systems such as National Patient Care Database.
Applies LEAN methodologies in support of improving operations, programs, processes, and procedures in the pursuit of strategic goals.
Conducts studies for new processes, researches best practices and creates standard operating procedures/flowcharts.
Establishes and maintains data base records.
Collects data for reports, completes statistical analysis and interview administrators and clinicians on current processes.
Completes other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/20/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Analyzing data, providing technical assistance regarding computer operations, and assisting with management problems impacting policy-making decisions. Data processing, preparing reports of clinic programs, identifying problems and presenting solutions based on analysis. Develops monitors and performs data collection and analysis. Maintains Service SharePoint by uploading and deleting outdated documents and uploading reports. Submitting Help Desk requests, EPAS menu certifying tool, printing VISTA user reports, VISTA File-Man, ProClarity, CDW/VDW, etc. Acts as service Liaison of the Program Applications Specialist (PAS). Establishes and maintains data base records. Serves as the ADPAC. Data collection and report preparation utilizing Microsoft Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Project, Access and Visio.

Physical Requirements: Physical demands involve frequent walking, bending, sitting, etc., although the position requires the ability to move from one geographic location of the facility to another. Works with a computer screen and keyboard. The work will involve some physical moving of computer equipment and carry and storing some IT equipment.
