This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as an Inventory Management Specialist (Demand Planner) for the US Army Medical Logistics Command.

Duties

Executes the demand planning program for a complex portfolio of weapons systems and/or component piece parts. Supports the development and implementation of outcome-based demand support strategies that optimize supply chain management principles to enhance system readiness and life cycle cost affordability. Supports and addresses demand planning impact to system cost, schedule, performance, life cycle management and supportability requirements in accordance with applicable repair parts Class VIII supply policy in support of sustainability. Provides direct support to the Supply Planner regarding validation and correction of independent demand forecasts and generates forecast(s) reflecting all known planning assumptions to support monthly analysis and reporting operations. Uses Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and SAP systems to review demand history, apply demand plan adjustments, and generate forecasts. Partners with the acquisition community to integrate demand planning from the initiation of product development to culmination of life to ensure the Integrated Product Support (IPS) Elements are properly planned, resourced, and implemented.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) of 10% of the time
  • This position has a Data Analytics requirement. The incumbent must meet all requirements for Data Analytics level one (1) certification within 12 months of being placed on the position.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for LIFE CYCLE LOGISTICS certification within 36 months as of entrance on duty.

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Performing demand planning that impact system cost, schedule, performance, life cycle management and supportability requirements; 2) Analyzing forecast requirements of all required secondary items to support the customer as required at the lowest total life cycle cost; and 3) Resolving difficult issues in inventory management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
