Duties
Serve as the Lead Inventory Management Specialist of the Army Prepositioned Stocks (APS) Program for assigned segments located at APS sites
Exercise inventory management strategies to forecast possible factors of delay
Utilize procurement measures to fill materiel shortages and expired goods
Complete monthly unit status report through automated computer systems
Communicate with forward site team regarding any issues with materiel at APS sites
Collaborate with prime vendors to resolve issues with orders and shipments
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Requisitioning materiel using automated computer programs; (2) Creating reports for inventory management; AND (3) Troubleshooting supply and inventory concerns. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Requisitioning materiel using automated computer programs; (2) Creating reports for inventory management; (3) Troubleshooting supply and inventory concerns; AND (4) Exercise Inventory Management strategies to forecast delays regarding medical materiel.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
