This position serves as a Management and Program Analyst with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Office of the Associate Administrator for Administration’s Office of Administrative and Management Services (OAMS). OAMS is responsible for providing administrative support and services to NHTSA's program offices in Headquarters and the field offices. The Management and Program Analyst will provide support in NHTSA’s OAMS, Operations on various administrative matters.

Qualifications

To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications for the grade at which you are requesting consideration.To qualify for the GS-09 on Experience, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-07 it must include: Experience communicating with high level officials and employees; responding to changing deadlines and shifting priorities. Experience initiating, planning, negotiating, and executing management studies or special projects with varying scope and complexity. Providing guidance and recommendations to senior officials and managers regarding the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations and regulatory policy. To qualify for the GS-09 on Education alone, you must have 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or have been awarded a master's or equivalent graduate degree. You can also qualify based on a combination of graduate education and experience. This must be fully supported by your resume and transcripts, provided with your application. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of and skill in the use of Microsoft software packages such as MS Excel, MS Access, SharePoint, and MS Teams to track various administrative actions. Provide guidance and recommendations to senior officials and managers regarding the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations and regulatory policy. Ability to communicate effectively with high level officials and employees, work under pressure and respond to short deadlines. Ability to initiate, plan, negotiate, and execute a variety of management studies or special projects of broad scope and complexity.
