This position is within the Bureau of Land Management, California State Office, Division of Support Services. This position serves as the Branch Chief for Business Services in the State Office, Sacramento, CA. Information about the area can be found at City of Sacramento.

Duties
Direct a multi-disciplinary staff, through subordinate supervisors and team leaders, in providing responsible program and project delivery, technical assistance, and training.
Manage a variety of support functions such as procurement, grants management, records management, property, facilities management, engineering, administrative support, and fleet management.
Responsible for the development, oversight, evaluation and modification of the functions, structures, processes personnel, budget, and resources of the Branch.
Provide staff-level advice and assistance through the Deputy State Director to the State Director’s Office and State Leadership Team in the formulation of policies, objectives, programs, and plans.
Plan, coordinate, and execute business functions, resource allocation, and production.
Organizes work, sets priorities, and determines resource requirements, determines short- or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them.
Coordinates with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors progress and evaluates outcomes.
Requirements

Qualifications

You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: Experience with the implementation of business, administrative, and support services programs. Carrying out complex assignments in a highly original and collaborative manner that involve multiple internal and external groups or teams. Experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604. If you are a current Federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks at the next lower grade level.
Physical Demands: Work is primarily sedentary in nature. Work may involve site visits which include driving to and moving about work sites. Other travel by commercial air or government vehicle may be required.
Work Environment: Work is typically performed in an office setting. Some overnight travel may be required for training, meetings, conferences, or site visits. Work sites may include construction or industrial sites that may require personal protective equipment and/or additional safety precautions.
