In this position at FEMA Region 9, Mission Support Division under Administrative Services Branch, you will serve as Regional Financial Management Specialist providing advice and recommendation to the Branch Chief. The ideal candidate will have experience analyzing financial data and developing action plans, including trend forecasting and variance monitoring. Additionally, this person should be proficient in data visualization and modeling.

Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The time-in-grade and qualification requirements must be met within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. To qualify for this position at the GS-11 level, you must possess the following: one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: Processing vendor invoices using systems; AND Spending plan formulation, budget estimates and tracking; AND Understanding financial management regulations and applying the federal laws, policies and regulations. OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related OR Combination of education and experience To qualify for this position at the GS-12 level if you possess the following: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-11) in the Federal Service. This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Applying federal law, policies, and regulations related to financial management and travel services; AND Utilizing financial management systems by performing financial analysis on spend plans, forecast trends and costs, or obligations usage and changes; AND Analyzing financial information and making recommendations based on findings.
