About the Position: The mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. We provide worldwide on-site maintenance services and training support.
Duties
Install, align and perform mechanical repair on numerous and complex systems and all equipment and machinery of the activity.
Operate a variety of machines to manufacture items unlimited as to size or precision tolerances.
Perform weight test duties, filter change, and vibration analysis using XMS software.
Ensure safety requirements and housekeeping rules are followed and that personal protective equipment is properly used.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation (Tier 1).
- Employee must undergo and pass pre-appointment physical examination and meet established hearing and vision tests.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) business or travel requirements of 5% of the time.
- This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer; respirator required.
- This position is subject to call out and after hours duty for equipment failures or required emergency repairs and storm or disaster recovery.
- Must possess a valid state driver's license.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid government driver's license.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Production Machinery Mechanic without more than normal supervision. The ability to perform common Production Machinery Mechanic duties to include maintaining and repairing industrial plant equipment. Using complex power driven machine tools that perform precise and close operations. Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, flow diagrams, parts breakdown, section view or technical manuals. Working under supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who reviews my work for completion. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Efforts - Requires walking, climbing, crawling, working in strained and cramped positions, lifting tools, equipment and components up to 35 pounds without assistance, and over 35 pounds with assistance from another worker or weight handling equipment.
Working Conditions - Work is performed inside and outside, frequently in cramped or awkward positions. Subject to inadequate ventilation, dirt, noise, grease, cuts, bruises, electrical shock, strains, falls from ladders, burns, disagreeable odors and high temperatures. Working from heights utilizing aerial or scissor lifts may be required at times. Danger to skin and eyes from flying chips, abrasive particles and hot metal. Danger from high speed operating equipment in engine and transmission test cells. Work requires use of personal protective, equipment such as, but not limited to, half/full face respirators, air pack, dusk masks, safety glasses, and shoes appropriate to the work are and work performed. Discomfort may be experienced while wearing protective equipment.
