About the Position: The mission of CCAD is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. We provide worldwide on-site maintenance services, aircraft crash analysis, lubricating oil analysis, and chemical, metallurgical and training support.

Duties

Inspect, replace defective parts, clean, adjust, service and repair a variety of machinery, equipment and machine tools. Operationally test and visually inspect equipment to determine type and extent of repairs necessary. Reassemble units, components, and perform tests under operating conditions before proceeding to next assignment. Determine correct oil required for lubricating and/or cooling machine tools. Use bench lathes, drill press, grinders and other shop tools to rework parts or manufacture small items to repair equipment, machine, or tools when same are not in supply inventory.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a Tier 1 - Non-Sensitive, Low Risk suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Position requires employee to wear protective equipment to include a respirator.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license.
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid government driver’s license.
  • Must undergo and pass pre-appointment physical examination and meet established hearing and vision tests.
  • This position is subject to call out and after-hours duty for equipment failures or required emergency repairs and storm or disaster recovery.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element) WG-08: Your resume must indicate your ability to do the work of a Production Machinery Repairer without more than normal supervision. Resumes will be reviewed for experience and/or training which provided skills and knowledge of the following: Performing some tasks including assisting higher graded employees with minor and uncomplicated repairs, adjustments, and maintenance consisting of cleaning and lubricating. Reading manuals and guides on electrical processes and programs. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Subject to inadequate ventilation, dirt, noise, grease, cuts, bruises, electrical shock, strains, falls from ladders, burns, disagreeable odors and high temperatures. Danger to skin and eyes from flying chips, abrasive particles and hot metal. Danger from high-speed operating equipment in engine and transmission test cells. Work requires use of personal protective, equipment such as, but not limited to, half/full face respirators, air pack, dusk masks, safety glasses, and shoes appropriate to the work are and work performed. Discomfort may be experienced while wearing protective equipment.
