Duties
The Supervisory Information Technology Specialist will serve as the Assistant Director for the Information Technology program and has the responsibility to develop new concepts, theories, programs, or to solve problems that have previously resisted solution for the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH).

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Experience GS-15: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal Service. For this position, specialized experience is defined as (1) Providing leadership in planning, development, and implementation of a full range of IT programs including, digital and IT infrastructure (cloud and hybrid computing and storage solutions, database management systems, audio/video storage and delivery), network administration, and system security for a museum or similar cultural or educational institution preserving and disseminating information for public audiences. (2) Advising senior management on issues related to major aspects of IT system design and integration, performing cost benefit analyses of technology options, and serving as an advocate for innovation and process improvement through the integration of IT in the organization’s business process. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.Part-time and/or unpaid experience related to this position will be considered to determine the total number of years and months of experience. Be sure to note the number of paid or unpaid hours worked each week.
