About the Position: This position is located in the III Corps, G-8 Resource Management, Budget & Travel Division on Fort Hood, TX. Ft Hood is nicknamed The Great Place because of the quality of life the post and area offer Soldiers and their families. Ft Hood covers a total of 340 sq miles and rests in the beautiful 'hill and lake' country of Central Texas, between Killeen and Copperas Cove.
Duties
Serves as the Lead Defense Travel Administrator (DTA) for Defense Travel System (DTS), provide functional and systems assistance with the implementation and use of DTS.
Administers productivity improvement and management programs for supported organizations (e.g., Defense Travel Program, Debt Management, Government Travel Card, etc.).
Develops and analyze DTS and Government Travel Charge Card (GTC) reports and listings for all FORSCOM activities.
Provides guidance and problem resolution for DTS authorizations and vouchers issues/concerns.
Serves as Program Manager for the GTC program for assigned and attached FORSCOM units on the installation to include Individually Billed-Accounts.
Serves as the G8 Debt Management Monitor (DMM) responsible for tracking, processing and recording of all actions related to a debt incurred by traveler in DTS.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) of less than 10% annually is required.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing automated systems to process travel requirements such as issuing travel cards and/or reviewing card holder accounts for compliance in support of a travel card program; and conducting administrative functions of an organizations resource management programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration, Financial Management, Auditing, Organizational Management, or Process Improvement. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
