About the Position: The position is located at the Installation Command US Army Garrison DFMWR ACS Division, Ft. Moore, GA which is located 100 miles south of Atlanta and is adjacent to Columbus, GA and Phenix City, AL. The geography and climate are ideal for year-round military training.

Duties

Serves as Army Community Service (ACS) Multi-Functional Specialist at the installation level with professional and technical responsibility for assisting Commanders with assessing, tailoring and prioritizing ACS service delivery in support of local Military and Family needs. Implements and managers installations ACS services, establishing goals, objectives and procedures IAW applicable State, DoD, DA and other federal guidance, regulations and laws. Consults with on and off site community leadership officials on Solider and Family readiness services and related issues. Serves as unit service coordinator, providing services to a designated military unit.

Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position, such as Sociology, Social Worker, or Psychology. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field, such as Sociology, Social Worker, or Psychology. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field, such as Sociology, Social Worker, or Psychology. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes client intake, information & referral, crisis intervention, life skills, and/or transition services; assist with managing volunteers; and assist with developing assessments to identify customer needs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Sociology, Social Work or Psychology. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications and MediaCustomer ServiceOral CommunicationTechnical Credibility Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
