This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Information Technology (OIT), Information Security and Privacy Group (ISPG), Division of Security, Privacy Policy and Oversight (DSPPO).
As a Supervisory IT Specialist (Security), GS-2210-14, you serve as Deputy Division Director, and will direct staff responsible for the overseeing the IT system security and Privacy Program.
Duties
Advises leadership and executives of various CMS and other government components on the technical aspects of the creation, development, implementation, and deployment of agency level cybersecurity and privacy policies.
Designs and implements an integrated ISPG enterprise-wide communications strategy to inform all CMS stakeholders about ISPG policies, initiatives and
operational activities.
Finds ways to improve production or increase the quality of the work directed and develops performance standards.
Fosters a work environment that fully utilizes the capabilities of every employee at all organizational levels.
Oversees program integration that supports enterprise-wide compliance with federal law and ensures IT system solutions and program development are designed and built on a foundation that includes privacy and security principles and standards.

Basic Requirement: You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

In order to qualify for the GS-14 grade level, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
1) Providing technical guidance in developing and improving Cybersecurity programs;
2) Establishing security and privacy policies for evaluating risks, threats, and vulnerabilities; AND
3) Collaborating with stakeholders in the development and/or implementation of privacy and security policies to enable compliance with Cybersecurity program requirements.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
