The primary purpose of this position is to is to exercise second level supervisory and managerial authorities over the Operations Section of the Force Support Squadron (FSS), which includes unit training, readiness, and plans functions.
Duties
Provides support to management in planning, organizing, and overseeing the activities of the Force Support Squadron (FSS) with direct oversight of unit training.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Represents the Director/Commander, and FSS with a variety of installation and functional area organizations to included wing and group.
Establishes, defines, and implements requirements for operations programs to ensure services and functions are in line with organizational goals and mission requirements.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience in establishing, revising, and/or reviewing policies, procedures, mission objectives applicable to organizational management; eliminating work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment; provide subordinate supervisors and staff with direction and advice regarding policies, procedures, and guidelines; and establish metric and analysis systems for units managed to assess efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory procedures. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of manpower, personnel, education, family & readiness, instructional systems, and/or services operations, directives, programs, and procedures.
2. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Knowledge of financial, budget, and resource management practices and principles.
4. Skill in gathering, assembling, and analyzing data/facts, developing conclusions, identifying trends, developing alternatives/solutions and making recommendations to resolve problems.
5. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors.
6. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
