About the Position: This primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Chief of the Customer Support Branch located at ACH Winn Army Community Hospital Fort Stewart GA.

Duties

Provide supervision, guidance and coordination for the Customer Support Branch l and underlying clinics. Direct daily work assignments in terms of trouble tickets, work orders, or project information including resolving Level I and Level II trouble calls. Ensure trouble tickets are being resolved in a timely manner to meet mission requirements. Identify specific types of hardware/software and coordinates for long term resolution. Identify and determines training needs of subordinates; ensure informal training is provided to subordinates or coordinates formal training of employees.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • Must have and maintain 8750 compliant IAT Level II. Must meet position requirements for certification at Level II in information Assurance Technical (IAT-11) within (6) months or less of entrance on duty.
  • One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • This position may require the incumbent to work during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.
  • A pre-placement medical examination is required.
  • This position is inclement weather essential.
  • Travel Required: Up to 5% Business Travel required.
  • Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds is required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid US state issued driver's license

Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes providing functional and technical IT support for software and hardware; conducting functional and technical training on application systems, information retrieval techniques, and communications hardware/software; advising on risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed systems; and ensuring dental and medical specific hardware are securely connected to the network and interface correctly with dental and medical software applications. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). In addition to the specialized experience listed above; individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: completing thorough and accurate work independently, even in the most difficult or stressful situations; occasionally reviewing work completed by others; (2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: convincingly conveying complex information to customers; presenting thoughts that are well-organized and demonstrating confidence in the facts and ideas; adjusting style when working with individuals with different levels of understanding; using various methods to explain and convey information; and (4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: solving complex or sensitive problems by developing and proposing strategic alternatives; identifying possible conflicts and shared benefits; helping team anticipate problems and identifying and evaluating potential sources of information; providing feedback and coaching to others to help solve problems; engaging appropriate stakeholders when developing solutions in order to understand and incorporate multiple perspectives and needs; evaluating the effectiveness of decisions and adjusting future decisions as appropriate.
