This position is located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), Operations Office, Budget and Performance Management Division (BPMD). The BPMD is responsible for oversight, planning, development, implementation, and assessment of BJA's administrative and program budgets and performance management.
Duties
Serves as Budget Analyst with responsibility for analyzing, formulating, and executing budgets to support strategic goals and objectives of BJA;
Oversees and manages the organization's budget operations, including formulation and execution;
Reviews and formulates guidance for developing an integrated budget;
Formulates a consolidated budget for BJA programs; and
Compiles BJA's input for the President's Budget within specified timeframes, in accordance with the requirements of OMB Circular A-11.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level. Specialized experience is experience which is in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Examples of specialized experience include:
Providing advice and recommendations on real or potential budgetary, oversight, management, and political issues in assigned areas;
Participating in developing financial/budgetary policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness;
Consolidating data to provide a comprehensive overview of the financial status of operations; and
Analyzing funding decisions, statutory language, and report directives from external stakeholders and Committees, advising senior management on significant developments and concerns.
