This position is located at Departmental Offices, Terrorist and Financial Intelligence - Intelligence Analysis. As a Senior Personnel Security Specialist you will plan, develop, coordinate, and administer aspects of DO personnel security programs.
Duties
Pursuant to 50 USC 3024 (v), and with concurrence and consultation with the Director of National Intelligence and the Director of the Office of Personnel Management, this position is being established in the excepted service as an element of the Intelligence Community within the Department of the Treasury.
As a SENIOR PERSONNEL SECURITY SPECIALIST, you will:
Develop, coordinate, and control Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12), suitability, fitness, and personnel security functions within the DO Personnel security Branch.
Write and develop procedures consistent with laws and regulations concerning HSPD-12, suitability, fitness, and national security eligibility.
Review, evaluate, and adjudicate reports of investigations, personnel files, and other records to determine whether to grant, deny, revoke, suspend, or restrict security clearances consistent with national security and/or suitability issues.
Review and evaluate procedures and programs, keeping up to date on new or changing regulations.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Experience reviewing completed investigation reports, making appropriate evaluations, and writing formal letters regarding the issuance, suspension, denial, or revocation of compliant credentialing, suitability, fitness and eligibility to occupy a national security position security clearances; AND
Experience citing the legal basis for each action, as required; AND
Utilizing personnel security data management systems and resources to ensure regulatory compliance.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
