About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command Mission Support Command Office of the Inspector General.
Duties
Serve as an Assistant Inspector General in the Inspections Branch, Office of the Inspector General (OIG), with responsibility for planning and conducting general and follow-up inspections.
Perform on-site Inspector General inspections.
Assemble, edit, and supervise the publication of final inspection reports.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, incumbent must pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Incumbent may be required to take a counterintelligence scope polygraph examination, if required for Special Access Program.
- Incumbent is required to attend and successfully complete the Department of the Army Inspector General Course in order to perform the duties of this position.
- This position requires TDY travel to INSCOM units throughout the world to conduct inspections and investigations at 35% or less of the time.
- All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments under field conditions during crisis situations or to perform routine mission essential functions as determined by management (See Additional Information).
- The conduct of inspections requires extended periods of standing and walking.
- Position requires Top Secret security access with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
