About the Position: This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & the Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

Reviews environmental laws/regulations and determines their intent, applicability, and impact on RIA-wide activities. Provides environmental engineering support to the Garrison Manager at meetings with Federal and state regulators. Conducts comprehensive engineering studies to determine the most feasible corrective remedies for environmental deficiencies. Conducts environmental engineering reviews and analyses of various projects, plants, design criteria, design, construction packages, and manufacturing process to ensure that environmental requirements are adequately addressed. Provides engineering reviews and monitors various environmental research and development efforts.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Developing and administering Environmental Programs such as, but not limited to: Clean Water Act, Wastewater, Air, Solid Waste, Hazardous Waste, Toxic Substances Control Act (TCSA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), pollution prevention, natural resources, training, budget, noise abatement, above ground storage tanks, underground storage tanks, spill control, compliance cleanup, hazardous material, design review, historic and cultural resources, requirements determination, and environmental reporting. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirements using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
