About the Position: Sierra Army Depot is located in Herlong CA, a rural town in Northern California. Herlong is approximately 60 miles north of Reno, NV, and 35 miles south of Susanville, CA. The depot serves as an Army Expeditionary Logistical Support Center. Employees work Mon-Thurs, 0630-1700 hrs. Youth Facilities and childcare available. Mass transportation is available at minimal cost. Surrounding area boasts a full range of outdoor sports/recreation activities.

Duties

Brief management and higher headquarters on budget issues and trends. Analyze cost benefits for various organizations. Perform analyses using budgeting developed data queries, accounting automated system applications and manual processes. Review program operating goals and develops budget expenditures. Ensure that statements and records comply with laws and regulations.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Overseeing budget proposals to ensure the efficiency of program operations; 2) Monitoring cost benefit determinations to implement changes; 3) Authorize budget funding requests to facilitate the budgetary process within an organization; 4) Leading staff over budget reports for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with laws and other regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
