You will serve as an Administrative Support Assistant (OA) in the Criminal Investigation Division of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.
Duties
You will provide investigative and administrative/clerical support to criminal investigators.
You will receive and prepare various unclassified reports from source materials, which include: Criminal Investigation Division (CID) investigative case notes, rough drafts, and electronic media.
You will review final investigative reports to ensure conformance with CID policy and to ensure correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, format, and distribution.
You will compile final investigative reports with applicable exhibits make necessary copies and distribute in accordance with policies and regulations.
You will ensure outgoing sensitive documents are prepared in accordance with Department of Defense and United States Marine Corps policies and distributed timely.
You will type a variety of forms, letters, memoranda, and other correspondence for CID personnel utilizing word processing software and a personal computer.
You will ensure proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, headings format, and distribution.
You will maintain a filing system for the office, which encompasses all investigative and miscellaneous operating files.
You will be responsible for creating, entering, indexing, and retrieving all investigative and administrative documents.
You will evaluate office equipment and supplies with regards to its selection and utilization, focusing on the relative merits of equipment for meeting the organizations needs and recommend same for purchase.
You will receive and screen telephone calls and visitors, determining the nature of the call or visit and route accordingly.
You will provide statistical reports to investigators using data maintained in internal databases.
Requirements

- You will be required to POSSESS and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This position requires the incumbent to undergo a locally initiated and conducted Background Investigation.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector assisting with administrative support to include ensuring reports are prepared accurately and disseminated in a timely manner, and maintaining database and reports.

This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
Education
In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
You may qualify based on education or a combination of experience and education.
You must have completed four years of education above high school level.
OR
You must have a combination of experience and education that equates to one year of experience. The required education plus the percentage of the required experience must equal one hundred percent.
