This position is located at US Mint,Manufacturing Directorate - Philadelphia - Numismatics Division. As a SUPERVISORY INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, you will be overseeing the activities and initiatives relating to the supply, management and control of precious metal numismatic and bullion inventories.
Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
Overseeing the activities and initiatives relating to the supply, management and control of precious metal numismatic and bullion inventories.
Analyzing supply and demand data and providing advice and recommendations to the Production Manager and Plant Manager on appropriate levels of inventories to maintain.
Investigating and developing plans for re-use of unused and scrapped/rejected precious metal materials; this involves close coordination with production staff and vendors and making decisions on the preparation, scheduling, controlling and movement of metal to the supplier.
Determining, initiating, and coordinating required actions by establishing and maintaining liaison with contractors and vendors, planning, scheduling, and advising on procurement, delivery, or emergency transportation of needed materials.
Preparing daily inventory reports for gold, platinum, silver bullion, blanks and coins for the US Mint.
Performing the full scope of supervisory duties that include personnel management responsibilities, on the job training, preparation of performance standards and rating employees against standards, recommending personnel actions, handling complaints and grievances of subordinates, approval/disapproval of leave requests, encouraging participation in the suggestion program, and adhering to the principles of equal employment opportunity.
Qualifications

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Specialized Experience:
For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Coordinating procurement processes, asset management, logistics and inventory management; AND
- Writing inventory reports and maintaining logistical records; AND
- Conducting studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of programs; AND
- Providing recommendations on inventory levels and practices pertaining to inventory management. AND
- Conducting auditing/annual physical inventory
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-12 you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks.
