The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Armaments Center (AC) serves as the Army's technology leader for armament systems. DEVCOM AC ensures dominance of Army capabilities by researching, developing, integrating and delivering technology-enabled armament solutions to our Warfighters. Armaments Center has a long tradition as the primary research and development center for new and existing armament systems which are in use by U.S. service members around the world.
Duties
Serve as a technical project/team leader and specialist, providing system performance/effectiveness analyses to support the development of new armament systems and to evaluate the existing systems under a variety of conditions.
Serve as an expert consultant on a wide variety of special problems concerning armament systems/component performance analysis.
Coordinate a variety of experimental and investigative activities included theoretical, experimental, and evaluative analysis during the exploratory and development phases.
Perform a variety of scientific and technical investigations requiring theoretical, analytical, experimental, and design studies during development and production.
Give guidance to other DEVCOM elements and contractors engaged in systems analysis work and provide consultant services on the performance/effectiveness of specific systems, concepts, and components.

- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position.
- Selectee must meet position requirements for Engineering and Technical Management within 60 months of entrance on duty.

Basic Requirement for Operations Research Analyst:
Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Experience developing mathematical models, equations, computer programs, or Computer simulations to describe physical systems and their performance characteristics; AND(2) experience reviewing the design of experiments and test programs to establish databases for system effectiveness and performance evaluations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower pay band or grade/level position in the federal service (DB-02/GS-05 - GS-11).
