You will serve as a SECRETARY (OFFICE AUTOMATION) in the Executive Officer, Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO) at NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.
Duties
You will be responsible for maintaining and controlling the supervisors' calendars and advising them daily of appointments or conference.
You will be responsible for performing liaison duties as necessary between the division head, his subordinates, and other department personnel.
You will be responsible for functioning as the records custodian receiving, assessing, issuing and filing records including processing instructions, directives, and correspondence.
You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining files primarily for the use of the division including material such as correspondence and reports.
You will be responsible for drafting computer-generated correspondence (e.g., reports, graphs, indices, statistics) using Microsoft Office applications.

Qualifications
FOR THE GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience applying the duties, priorities, commitments, policies, and program goals of the Executive Officer to perform assignments, including reviewing publications, directives, and other materials that may impact the organizational element.
Experience taking appropriate follow-up actions, including anticipating and preparing the necessary materials for the supervisor to effectively respond to correspondence or telephone calls.
Experience using standard DoD and Navy administrative applications such as Defense Travel System (DTS)and Standard Labor Data Collection and Distribution Application (SLDCADA).
Experience making travel arrangements and any necessary arrangements for personal convenience as well as arranging new or additional equipment required for the office.
FOR THE GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience providing administrative support in an office setting to include preparing, proofreading or editing correspondence, scheduling appointments, greeting visitors, and answering phones.
Experience with the organizational structure, operations, and functions of all components of the Naval Oceanographic Office, including familiarity with the procedures, rules, regulations, and guidelines governing their operations.
Experience effectively communicating with departmental personnel, contractors, and representatives from other agencies interacting with the office
Experience preparing correspondence, reports, graphs, charts, various presentations, calendars, statistics, tables, etc. in final form.
