You will serve as a SECRETARY in the Command Services Department of NAVAL OCEANOGRAPHY OPERATIONS COMMAND.

Duties
You will be responsible for assistant level support of administrative and program functions to the Command Officer, Executive Officer, Senior Enlisted Leader, Department Heads and civilian and military command members as appropriate.
You will support efforts to evaluate or improve the efficiency and productivity of the organization.
You will be responsible for the coordination and execution of administrative functions and processes for the command.
Requirements

- This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience overseeing administrative programs, functions and organization, and applying administrative principles, practices and techniques in order to provide effective administrative support to facilitate overall office management functions;
Experience coordinating the work of the office with other commands/departments, including advising personnel on new procedures or regulations;
Experience exercising diplomacy and tact in carrying out protocol etiquette to interact with a variety of high-level visitors, including high-level military and civilian employees of the government, members of academia and the private sector, and high-level foreign nationals;
Experience operating automated travel system to make reservations and create travel authorizations and vouchers;
Experience in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe and other office software required to produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formats, such as graphics or tables within the text, to edit and reformat electronic drafts, and to update existing databases.
