You will serve as an ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the ENGINEERING DIVISION of CNSSC OPERATIONAL SUPPORT FIELD.
Duties
You will serve as the expert advisor to the NPO for environmental compliance over a wide variety of operations or activities.
You will analyze materials, structures, environmental and safety codes, legal requirements, and operations to advise on environmental and safety requirements, including economic impact of alternative solutions and conducting inspections or reviews.
You will be responsible for ensuring the compliance of NPO fuel's mission with federal, DOD, DON and state instructions and regulations related to environmental protection.
You will be responsible for planning, developing and administering the Environmental Protection programs involved with all NPO Fuel Operations.
You will be responsible for identifying projects required to correct environmental deficiencies, improve existing conditions or comply with new/revised regulations.
You will provide cradle to grave management of environmental projects to include budget submissions, fund management, scope of work and cost estimate development, technical evaluations of contractor proposals and execution and project closeout.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
For GS 12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized Environmental Protection Specialist experience equivalent to the GS - 11 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service servicing as the focal point for all petroleum, oil, lubricant (POL)- related environmental issues. Specific work experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Liaising with agency, regional, and end-user staffs regarding Naval issues on recurring environmental compliance and restoration programs; 2) Supporting and facilitating funding for environmental requirements from planning through execution and sustainment stages; 3) Reviewing and validates reported environmental deficiencies and funding requests, planning and design documents, and cost estimates; 4) Assisting site personnel with defining scope and submission of environmental projects; and 5) Coordinating with other agencies regional, and end-user staffs on funds approval for and resolution of environmental issues.
For GS-13: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized Environmental Protection Specialist experience equivalent to the GS - 12 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service servicing as the focal point for all petroleum, oil, lubricant (POL)- related environmental issues. Specific work experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Liaising with agency, regional, and end-user staffs as the primary Action Officer and advocate for Naval Issues on recurring environmental requirements 0from planning through execution; 2) Championing and facilitating funding for environmental requirements from planning through execution and sustainment stages; 3) Reviewing and validates reported environmental deficiencies and funding requests, planning and design documents, and cost estimates; 4) Assisting site personnel with defining scope and submission of environmental projects; and 5) Coordinating with other agencies regional, and end-user staffs on funds approval for and resolution of environmental issues.
