You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIRE PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the FEDERAL FIRE DEPARTMENT of NAVAL AIR WEAPONS STATION CHINA LAKE.
Duties
You will develop and maintain fire or emergency services training records.
You will monitor accident and injury reporting and investigation procedures to revise or develop standard of operating procedures (SOPs).
You will prepare strategic plans, facilities master plans, risk assessments, or standard of response coverage documents to ensure operational readiness.
You will assign work to junior firefighters or employees based on priorities, requirements, and capabilities.
Requirements

- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position requires a 56 hour work week.
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.

This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications for this position: Fire Officer III, Fire Instructor III, Fire Inspector II, HAZMAT Incident Commander, Airport Firefighter and National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) Basic. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. If you do not possess all of the above certifications and you have not attached a copy of your transcript or certifications, you will be rated ineligible.
