About the position: This position will be assigned to the 97th FSS Outdoor Recreation.
The position is a flexible position, which means benefits are not available and hours are not guaranteed. Employee could work between 0 and 40 hours per week.
Flex employees will be eligible to use certain base facilities such as the fitness center, lodging, pool and bowling center.
Duties
Performs and/or assists in operation and maintenance of recreational facilities. Establishes schedules of events as wells as the rules and regulations to be observed. Types of duties include, but not limited to, the following: Tests water-skiing and boating equipment for safe operation; demonstrates safety and conservation techniques for campsites, water sports area, firing ranges, and hunting areas; demonstrates equipment and techniques of various outdoor activities such as camping, swimming and boating; sets up gymnasiums and playing fields for sports events, tournaments, and practice games when such assignments require a practical knowledge of the rules and procedures of such activities (i.e., are not simply manual labor assignments); inspects outdoor recreation and sports facilities and equipment for security and general conditions; and schedules campsites, cabins, boats, and other outdoor recreation equipment and areas for use, with responsibility for seeing that they are vacated or returned in good order. Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Qualifying Experience:
Example of Qualifying Experience: Experience demonstrating a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs; and practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities and equipment, rules and procedures in a recreation program activity which has involved recreation work in the area of specialty in which the position s assigned; ability and skill dealing with the public
Condition(s) of Employment: Must be able to lift and carry supplies, materials and equipment weighting up to 40 lbs. Incumbent must satisfactorily complete a favorable Tier Level 1 background investigation. This is a drug testing designated position. The Incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. Must have or acquire a state driving license. May be required to operate a government vehicle.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position DOES NOT allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
