Duties
Serves as the Executive Assistant to the Garrison Commander, Command Sergeant Major and Deputy to the Garrison Commander.
Responsible for keeping the garrison command group synchronized.
Provides command guidance pertaining to staff actions and project requirements.
Ensures appropriate flow of information between various command groups.
Reviews and disseminates administrative directives/policies issued by DA, DoD and other governmental organizations.
Maintains the Command Group’s files and correspondence.
Compiles information for use in conferences and speeches by researching a variety of reference materials.
Coordinates travel arrangements to include scheduling, itinerary details, reservations and prepare travel vouchers utilizing the Defense Travel System (DTS).
Greet and/or direct high-ranking callers and visitors to appropriate staff according to proper protocol.
Composes routine correspondence in accordance with regulations. Reviews action papers to ensure composition and grammar are in accordance with administrative procedures.
Performs duties as the management control and budget administrator for the Command Group.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) providing administrative support such as office management, receiving telephone calls, preparing and/or reviewing correspondences such as, letters, memorandums, reports, and/or briefings, scheduling meetings, maintaining staff calendars, and planning travel arrangements; utilizing office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration and or management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
