This position is within the Whole Health Program at the VA Caribbean Healthcare System (VACHS), San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Duties

Major duties and responsibilities include:
Participates in calls and obtains valuable and pertinent information to facilitate the development of patient flow principles;
Assures that the Service is up to date on all new initiatives and proactively identifies upcoming areas of focus;
Manages the design and development of all reports and databases, translating data into meaningful management information;
Assists management in the daily tracking functions to assist programs and providers with access and prevent a high no-show rate, missed opportunities, and cancellations;
Prepares and submits requests for program clinical needs through the proper mechanism;
Analyzes program performance data to identify deficiencies and impact on the services;
Detects inconsistencies or errors in data determines the source of the problem and the cause, discusses errors with the supervisor and recommends methods to correct the data problem;
Conducts investigational studies as needed or as directed to clarify data;
Develops and continuously updates database systems for extracting accurate data for recurring and nonrecurring reports and tracking outcome analysis on a variety of administrative, clinical, and outcome data;
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday 07:30am - 4:00pm

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-6: At least one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position? To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-5 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes Knowledge of complex computer-based programs and the capabilities of each type of software to develop documents with tables or graphs, presentations and reports (MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, Pyramid, to execute several office automations functions such as storing and retrieving electronic documents and files; activating printers; inserting and deleting text; formatting letters, reports and memoranda, tables, spreadsheets and graphics; and transmitting and receiving e-mail.- AND-
This position includes a Selective Placement Factor (skill, knowledge, ability or other worker characteristic basic to - and essential for - satisfactory performance of the job). Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Work requires standing, walking, stopping, reaching, occasionally lifting and carrying light packages, boxes, and movement of equipment when conducting equipment inventory and preparing equipment turn-ins. Work is performed in an office setting. Some noise will be perceived at the working area since office is located in front of the Service's main hallway. Interruptions may occur during the working day since the incumbent works at the Whole Health Program administrative office which is a customer service one.
