You will serve as a SAFETY & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH MANAGER in the Occupational Safety Health & Environmental Office of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.
Duties
You will supervise a variety of positions such as: Engineers; Industrial Hygienists; Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Specialist; Environmental Protection Specialist (EPS); Hazardous Waste Disposers; Medical Records Technicians; Program Analysts
You will interact with Navy Headquarters, Navy Commands, regulatory agencies and the public
You will supervise and monitor technical work of subordinates, leads or mentors less senior employees.
You will coordinate, direct, and decide on matters affecting Occupation Safety, Health and Environmental Program’s overall performance and compliance with federal and locals laws and Navy policies
You will develop goals and program plans, determine the allocation of personnel and fiscal resources for the efforts of all shipyard departments for ship repair and maintenance operations.
You will ensure efficient and effective Occupation Safety, Health and Environmental technical support and coordination for the efforts of all shipyard departments for ship repair and maintenance operations.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-13) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing, implementing and monitoring safety and health of the workforce, protection of property, environmental compliance, and/or protection of natural resources programs at a Shipyard or other large industrial facility to ensure compliance with all applicable OSHE policy and regulatory requirements..
