About the Position: This position is in the Naval Hospital Twentynine Palms with the Directorate of Resource Management. The city is the home of Joshua Tree National Park Headquarters and the proud host of the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center. Twentynine Palms is renowned for its world-class artists, business climate, beautiful natural surroundings, desert and mountain vistas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Duties

Serve as Accounting Technician performing analysis and evaluation of financial/accounting data. Apply a working knowledge and understanding of these functions as they pertain to revolving fund environment. Examine request documents for propriety of accounting data, to include accounting classifications, job orders, cost centers, etc., and performs preliminary review to ascertain the availability of funds for certification purposes. Serve as a collection agent for Medical Service Accounts. Verify collections, schedules and vouchers to ensure collections are posted to proper accounting classifications.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret Security clearance (Tier 3) or access for the duration of employment.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5 % of the time.
• This is a Financial Management Level 3 Certified position. The Incumbent must obtain Level 1 Financial Management Certification within 2 years of entrance on duty.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes supporting the handling of cash items, examining financial documents for accuracy, and completing reports pertaining to employees. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-6).
