Duties

You will maintain accounting systems through policy and procedure. You will examine documents for accuracy, adequacy of documentation in compliance with regulations. You will establish, maintain and correct close pay accounts. You will answer requests and provide advice to employees, supervisors, staff in other financial management series and personnel specialists on pay related rules, regulations, and procedures. You will perform budget analysis and administration to maintain ledgers, budget formulation, compiling, consolidating, checking and arranging funding data.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Misuse of Government IT systems is cause for disciplinary action, including removal, if applicable.

Qualifications

GS-07: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: using automated financial systems to maintain accounting transactions, prepare travel authorizations, and compile financial reports to management. GS-06: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: determining pay, payroll records maintenance and completion of reports; and establishing, maintaining, correcting, and closing pay accounts.
