This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is responsible for oversight of a full range of work involved in the repair, overhaul, maintenance and servicing of heating, ventilation and air conditions units and systems.

Duties

Ensure maintenance repair operations conform to policies. Plan work schedules for maintenance repairs based on priorities in order to meet the required deadlines. Explain work requirements such as methods and procedures to maintenance employees. Select workers to complete assigned tasks based on employee skill set with maintenance instruments. Assure that materials are delivered to work sites in accordance with the order placed.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) GENERAL MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR LEADER ~ without more than normal supervision.I have the ability to perform common General Maintenance and Repair Leader duties. I can supervise employees who accomplish maintenance repairs such as Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) mechanics and Boiler operators. Determines manpower, tooling, material requirements, and methods to be used in order to meet required deadlines. Ensures availability of necessary plans, blueprints, material, or tools to complete the required jobs. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Lifts objects from moderate to heavy weights. (Maximum weight of 50 lbs, anything over 50 lbs will have assistance.) Climbs ladders, scaffolds, and work from platforms. May work in cramped and awkward positions, reaches, bends, lifts while using tools, parts, and/or equipment. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work inside and outside in a variety of weather conditions. Subject to exposure to dust and dirt, grease, fumes, noise, etc. Workers are also subject to cuts, burns, bruises, electrical shocks, etc. Safety equipment is provided to minimize hazards.
