Qualifications
NOTE: You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify for the GS-14 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level defined as assisting in the oversight of a program's administrative management, including supporting policy and procedural compliance; analyzing data, developing technical reports to track progress, and formulating recommendations for presentation to senior management; and working closely with management in coordinating projects, solving problems, and implementing program improvement initiatives.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of program/project management techniques.
Ability to plan, organize and direct.
Knowledge of Superfund laws and regulations.
Ability to provide guidance on administrative laws, policies, and/or procedures.
Ability to think strategically in order to provide advice and guidance to many audiences.
Skill in collecting and analyzing complex data.
Knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods, available data systems to support evaluations, and statistical methods.
Ability to negotiate effectively with a variety of audiences to accept and implement recommendations.
Skill in oral communication.
Ability to provide guidance to and interact with senior management officials within and outside of the Agency.
Ability to effectively communicate in writing using a variety of research sources.
Knowledge and understanding of program policies to provide guidance.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
