Duties
You will serve as the Subject Matter Expert and Technical Lead for the AN/SSN-6 Navigation Sensor System Interface System (NAVSSI) and the AN/SSN-9 Global Positioning System-Based Interface (GPNTS).
You will serve as the central point of contact for Government, Contractor, and Active Duty personnel associated with the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) Surface Ship Electronics (ESS) equipment work centers.
You will coordinate, plan, and schedule associated maintenance, overhauls, and grooms for all associated ESS equipment at SCSC.
You will identify training requirements and plan/execute applicable on-the-job training, familiarization, and cross-training for self, and work center associates.
You will conduct data extraction and analysis using extraction/analysis tools, as applicable for the purpose of fault detection/fault isolation and root cause analysis of all Navigation systems.
You will work with Data Analysis Center (DAC) personnel to promote escalation of data analysis to proper organizations (NSWC Dahlgren,
Corona, PEO IWS, etc.) through properly coordinated channels.
You will work directly with the contractor support team to ensure setups are coordinated with SCSC’s customer(s), Combat Systems, and Operations Departments.
You will identify event equipment and computer program configuration; obtain computer programs and electronic data from the Technical Library; install computer programs, load computers, and energize equipment in accordance with procedures.
You will establish interface switch paths, perform system checkout, and other site preparations necessary to ensure the readiness of the
requested systems and equipment to support a successful mission event.
You will set-up and collect data recording/data extraction, document observed issues/problems while operating combat system suites, and perform systematic takedown at the completion of the mission event.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NJ-3 broadband level (GS-9 through GS-11 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying a wide range of technical engineering principles to coordinate system level troubleshooting efforts for electronics systems.
