You will serve as an Industrial Specialist in the Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, SE & ALRE Group, Prototype and Manufacturing Division of NAVAIRWARCENADLKE.

Duties

You will serve as the Material Receipt Inspection (MRI) Travel Team Lead and QA expect on matters pertaining to inspection and certification of critical Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) systems at source. You will ensure the ALRE Flight Safe Program is followed by quality and procurement representatives of all DOD agencies. You will coordinate resources, staff, and schedules to accomplish required tasking for projects. You will implement methods of assessing and improving manufacturing and quality oversight processes throughout the acquisition life cycle. You will incorporate industrial enhancement or quality assurance systems to accomplish process improvements initiatives and programs.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: 1) Reviewing technical documentation, engineering drawings and data, pertinent specifications, and available prototypes to identify characteristics critical to product acceptability; 2) Developing or leading in the modification of changes to quality planning documentation for the equipment being manufactured, assembled, or overhauled, and resolving discrepancies when documentation is ambiguous or incomplete; 3) Leading team members in the conduct of audits of products and processes for conformance to drawings and specifications, and to detect processing and technical documentation deficiencies; 4) Collaborating with engineers, program managers, fleet customers, fleet technical representatives as well as quality and procurement representative of other DOD agencies to provide advice and guidance on QA matters during system acquisition phases and during fleet investigations; 5) Providing recommendations to the manufacturing or design engineer, providing inspection and test procedures, and/or proposing alternatives or changes in the design or specifications, substitution of materials, or changes in the production methods or processes; 6) Leading the Material Receipt Inspection at Source program which includes data package generation and close out, MIC mark assignment, coordinating travel and funding for QA Travel specialists, interim and final inspection waivers, First Article Test waiver requests, Source Approval Requests, and maintenance of the approved source list for critical ALRE systems.
