ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) serves as the world leader in providing timely, relevant, accurate and actionable geospatial intelligence (GEOINT). NGA's civilian, military and contract personnel evaluate imagery, maps, charts, multiple layers of foundation data - such as terrain, elevation and gravity - and the full spectrum of visible and invisible light in order to help users visualize what is happening at a particular place and time. Our intelligence officers go beyond describing 'what, where and when' to revealing 'how and why.' Our work enables decision advantage for our policymakers, warfighters, intelligence professionals and first responders. NGA uses a flexible, high mobility career model. Individuals are hired for their overall skills within a specialty such as Source Strategies Analyst, and then placed in various positions throughout the agency once they complete the clearance process. OPIR Analysts manage specialized system development, OPIR training, and coordinate with external customers on a daily basis. In this position, the OPIR Operations Analyst will partner with USSPACECOM analysts in a Joint operating environment to effectively and efficiently satisfy both Department of Defense and Intelligence Community requirements. They develop and apply methods to collect, analyze, and visualize large volumes of data to address complex intelligence challenges and identify trends, solve analytical problems, optimize performance, and gather intelligence through data mining and retrieval. They establish brokering services that return value-driven solutions to customers from diverse supplier markets, lead modernization and innovation to create authoritative content and deliver content and services to customers when, where, and how they need it. Applicants must have a foundation in GEOINT collection with a working knowledge of orbital mechanics, Remote Sensing concepts and/or international issues preferred. The successful candidate will develop advanced collection strategies, build and maintain professional relationships with other NGA offices and external partners, leverage emerging technologies to increase data access, and brief senior level leaders when required. MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). Knowledge of and familiarity with Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) processes and/or data.EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, International Studies, Mathematics, Operations Research, Political Science, Science, Statistics, Technology, Remote Sensing, or a related field. -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in Option A, plus experience in a GEOINT-related field that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals 4 years. -OR- C. Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience in a GEOINT-related field that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT: Distinguish principal colors and shades/hues of principal colors; Near visual acuity of 20/40 or better with or without corrective lensesDESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired: 1. Demonstrated personal flexibility and adaptability for shifts/changes in crisis situations.2. Experience applying intelligence sources to solve problems and issues.3. Geospatial-based credentials (academic degrees, certifications, and certificates) are desired.4. Experience working as part of a cohesive team with demonstrated high quality results or output.
