About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the NGIC GEOSPATIAL Intelligence Battalion, OPIR Division, Denver Branch, Buckley AFB, CO 80011.
Duties
Serves as a Branch Chief with responsibility for planning, directing, and evaluating the work of a branch whose mission is to conduct geospatial-intelligence (GEOINT) analysis and production.
Responsible for comprehensive management of intelligence specialists (military, civilian and/or contractors) engaged in analysis and dissemination of GEOINT requirements.
Plans and assigns work, reviews completed products, and may be required to alter branch organization and workflow to meet crisis or contingency requirements.
Utilizes sound judgment and initiative to accomplish branch mission and is capable of implementing significant changes to the normal workflow as needed.
Conducts formal counseling and evaluation of subordinates and also recommend awards, assignments, and promotions.
Primary source of guidance and information to branch members on organizational administrative matters and technical requirements.
Facilitates accomplishment of branch mission by daily interaction with personnel and frequent contact with members or other Army and national intelligence community organizations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.

One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GG/GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience in performing such duties as providing direction and leadership to a military, civilian, and contractor staff engaged in the collection, analysis, evaluation, production, and dissemination of GEOINT in support of Army requirements and operations. Experience in GEOINT intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations to include GEOINT support directly related to FMI.
Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
