Duties

- Implements and administers SCI security programs for the MAJCOM. Acts as SSO liaison in all SCI security matters to support HQ AMC, NAFs, wings, and installations. - Implements and administers SCI Personnel Security Programs for the MAJCOM. Oversees plans and conducts SCI security monitor meetings, ensures all team members comply with established ISR security guidelines. - Implements and administers SCI Physical Security Programs for the MAJCOM. Requires understanding of the Command's mission, strategy and structure, funding sources and procedures, and requires the ability to make on-site logical decisions quickly and the flexibility to respond immediately to unforeseen events. - Implements and administers SCI Information and Industrial Security Programs for the MAJCOM. Enforces operational, functional, and mission assurance aspects of the program for AMC SCI Information Security Programs.

  • This position in the excepted service authorized by Title 10 U.S.C. and covered by the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The employee must also sign a Statement of Understanding prior to occupying a DCIPS position.
  • The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.

Qualifications

This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: knowledge of a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to review, independently analyze and resolve difficult and complex security problems; apply policy direction to contractors and government/military officials, and develop guidance for applying security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods to a variety of work situations and various levels or degrees of security controls. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. AND KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to review, independently analyze and resolve difficult and complex security problems; apply policy direction to contractors and government/military officials, and develop guidance for applying security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods to a variety of work situations and various levels or degrees of security controls. 2. Comprehensive knowledge of required security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist managers in complying with established security programs, 3. Practical knowledge of security programs interrelationships to coordinate the objectives and plans of two or more specialized programs to support and promote information sharing and strategies. 4. Skill in developing, analyzing, and evaluating multiple security programs (Personnel, Physical, Information, and Industrial) to meet mission requirements and improve organization security programs. 5. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. 6. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately to a large range of audiences. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED: Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed. A favorable suitability determination is required before appointment. Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short-notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. Key: The duties of this position meets all requirements as a category 4 designation, and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the parent Federal Agency or office to function effectively. This position must be removed from the Ready Reserve and CAN NOT become a member of the Ready Reserve. This is a Mission Essential (ME) position performing a Mission Critical Function (MCF) which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continue through full resumption of all functions. IAW DoD 3020-42, Defense Continuity Programs. DoD Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC), Security Asset Protection Professional Certification conferral is required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification. The listed certification requirements may not be deleted or modified without the written approval of the AF Security Functional Authority (SAF/AA) or their delegated security career field representative. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
