Duties

The incumbent serves as a Maintenance Worker for the Southern Four Corners Group Parks at Canyon de Chelly National Monument in Chinle, Arizona. The primary purpose of the position is to assist journey-level, or other higher graded maintenance workers under general supervision in general landscaping and grounds maintenance, trails maintenance, basic carpentry, simple electrical installations or repairs, basic plumbing work, and painting interior and exterior surfaces, and perform a variety of janitorial services. Ability to operate medium and small equipment for maintenance on gravel roadways and trails. Operates farm type tractors and associated attachments used to mow maintained roadside landscape areas. Operates trucks up to 13 tons to pick up supplies, transport materials to and from work site, picking up materials from local vendors, or plowing snow as needed.
