The DASD(AI2) reports to the ASD(A) and supports the USD(A&S). DASD AI2 is responsible for analyzing and monitoring the health of Joint Mission in order to identify existing or emerging integration seams between fielded or fielding operational systems across the Military Services. Additionally, AI2 identifies opportunities for streamlining capability delivery through innovative acquisition approaches, while institutionalizing the lessons learned.

Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following:
The incumbent serves as a Capabilities Analyst for the AI2 providing program analysis, evaluation, and management recommendations on programs and processes associated with Joint Mission capabilities.
Develops policies, procedures, analyses, and recommendations relating to the Acquisition process and Capabilities investment review, approval, and funding for DoD systems.
Coordinates between AI2 and the Component Acquisition Executives, OSD Program Executive Offices (PEOs) and Program Managers for compliance to requirements, priorities, technologies, and functional architectures for related systems.
Analyzes changes to previously established policy in the interest of compliance with pertinent laws, regulations and Comptroller General Decisions relating to systems investments for the DoD.
Serves as liaison with acquisition programs under assigned portfolio's providing consistent guidance and feedback, as well as facilitating the flow of required information to the USD (A&S) as the Milestone Decision Authority.
Continually analyzes system capabilities on a program-by-program basis and recommends any necessary adjustments to ensure capability is delivered. Incumbent also acts to resolve implementation issues.
Provides oversight to ensure all statutory reporting requirements are met for acquisition programs within the assigned portfolio.
Requirements

- Must obtain/maintain a Special Sensitive (Top Secret) security clearance
- This position requires a Program Management Advanced acquisition certification. You will have 48 months to achieve this certification
- Selectee must execute, as a condition of appointment, a written agreement to remain in Federal service in the position for at least three years
- This position may require travel away from your normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft <10%
- Overtime is NOT authorized for this position

You may qualify at the NH-04 (GS-14/15) level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03 (GS-13) grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your ability to:
Assesses impacts of policy, legislative rules, regulations and/or executive orders upon acquisition processes for compliance and meeting program operations.
Collaborates with acquisition professionals in support of administrative management policies and regulations.
Prepares and presents authoritative, comprehensive information and/or recommendations on substantive, complex issues to various levels of understanding and authority up through senior executive level Department officials.
Performs risk analysis and develops business cases in support of change management.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
