This position is located within the Department of Veterans Affairs Debt Management Center (DMC), Support and Special Operations Division (SSD), within the Office of Finance, Office of Management. The primary purpose of this position is to provide DMC employees with equipment and access support while providing managers with objectively based information needed to make decisions on the programmatic aspects of organizational support.
Duties
Specific duties include:
Interagency liaison between DMC and the local Office of Information Technology (OIT) to coordinate OIT support, equipment disbursement, and system access.

TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENT: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements (unless if in the commuting area and eligible for a non-competitive hiring authority such as Schedule A, VRA, or 30% or more disabled Veterans).
You must provide a copy of your most recent SF-50, Notification of Personnel Action showing that you are in the competitive service and the highest grade or promotion potential held. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate that you possess (1) year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates (1) year time-in-grade. General Adjustment and Award SF-50's cannot be used for time-in-grade verification purposes.
- For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05 level.
- If you are a current VBA employee outside of the commuting area seeking reassignment or change to lower grade via this vacancy announcement, you must currently hold the GS-07 (or higher) and the promotion potential of your current position must be at least GS-9.
The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
GS-07 Grade Level:
Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-05) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience is defined as work that involves: For GS-07:
Experience working independently or with limited direct supervision
Experience researching and developing processes and procedures
Communication skills to establish and maintain effective work relationships
Providing service to customers and/or stakeholders
Knowledge of computer software and equipment
Knowledge of basic analytical techniques
Education Substitution: 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement.
Combining Education & Experience: If you do not fully meet the length of experience and education described for a specific grade level (e.g. have six months of experience and some coursework but not a degree), the two can be combined to total 100% of the requirement. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Full vs. Part-Time Employment: Full-time employment is considered to be at least 35 hours per week. Part-time experience will be credited on a pro-rated basis; when including part-time employment in your resume you must specify the average hours worked per week.
Physical Requirements: The work is mostly sedentary and performed while seated at a desk or table with a moderate amount of standing and walking. The work requires some physical exertion such as stretching, bending, reaching, and carrying items such as light packages, books, paper, and small items up to 40lbs. This level of physical demand occurs, for example, when incumbent is involved in stocking and retrieving equipment and supplies from shelves and cabinets.
