This position is located in the Office of Minority and Women Inclusion of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and and involves processing and adjudicating complaints of discrimination filed against the FDIC. Duties

Coordinate the investigative process of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) complaints filed against the FDIC; review EEO Counselors reports, formal complaint documents, determine acceptance for investigation, and ensures that investigations are thorough, complete and addresses all claims sufficient enough to render a decision on the merits. Reviews reports of investigation for thoroughness and completeness. Prepares completed reports of investigation for issuance to complainants and their representatives. Analyzes complaints of discrimination applying the appropriate theories of discrimination against the facts contained in the investigative file. Prepares final agency decisions assessing the merits of the case, drawing conclusions, providing appropriate corrective action, if appropriate, and providing the appropriate appeal rights. Review discrimination complaints, conducts inquiries, determine resolution when corrective action is warranted, notifies aggrieved individual of final interview, and prepares informal resolution agreements consistent with Federal regulations of EEO and human resources. Reviews the decisions of Administrative Judges and the complete complaints files, including the hearing records, recommends acceptance or appeal of the Administrative Judge's decision and prepares the agency's final order. Provides technical assistance in writing manuals, directives, and other materials relative to equal opportunity. Identify ways to improve complaints processing and to prevent discrimination in the workplace.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 12 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as applying Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws, regulations, policies and procedures related to non-discrimination, harassment and retaliation to perform and/or coordinate investigative, analytical, and advisory assignments to resolve EEO complaints. Applicants must have met the qualification requirements (including selective placement factors – if any) for this position within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement.
