This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will serve as a senior staff action officer and adviser providing guidance on policy, procedures, technology systems, and federal programs in support of the Joint Staff records, research, and content operations and programs.
Duties
As a Information Management Specialist at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Serves as the Joint Staff point of contact for assigned information management program area.
Directs the development, staffing, coordination, and promulgating of information management specific issuances.
Develops strategies for achieving information management goals and objectives for assigned program area.
Analyzes and evaluates new approaches and methodologies proposed by the academic, industrial, defense and other government agencies for possible inclusion in Joint Staff information management plans and programs.
Reviews congressional legislative proposals involving federal or DOD and military services guidelines.
Recommends change to proposed and existing policy.
Produces reports and visualizations from data analytics to facilitate decision-making process.
Determines technology solutions to solve business problems and champion organizational change.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
Experience with Records Information Management, Content Management, Knowledge Management, Business Process Management, Information Assurance, and Library Science;
Using analytical methods regarding records information management process changes, technological and business improvements, and industry trends to implement change;
Analyzing statutory and regulatory processes and controls associated with the Federal Records Act as amended, 44 U.S.C. and 36 CFR promulgated by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
